The small pleasures of life

An update on the front verge. People in Christchurch should have heard about the City Council wanting to rid a traffic island of a very colourful guerilla garden, paid for by the local bookshop owner. In protest, I dug up by grass berm in August and replaced it with wildflowers and bedding plants.

Today I had a school van driver pull over and thank me saying that she loves seeing the garden each morning ๐ŸŒ„. I have to say, I loved the comment but it reinforces what Heath Steadfast Books and Guerrilla Gardening Christchurch have been doing for ages, and the colour they have provided while people traverse Ensors Road/Ferry Road.

After all “the idea of finding joy in the small pleasures of life is the idea that the little joys and conveniences of everyday life can add up to make a life well-lived”. #community

Ps, even traffic management in place ๐Ÿ˜‰
